Savta is an ancient myth, going back several thousand years, a story told to children to scare them into obedience. Also known as the Dread Mother Savta Charshei is said to entice children into diabolical contracts, candy for a lock of your hair, heal your dying father for your last breath. Years later this concept or item given to the old woman would be used to gain power of some kind over the deal maker, almost always resulting in horrific outcomes. This was not always the case though, there are some who have encountered her and made deals in which the consequences were mere inconveniences, perhaps it was going bald, or losing the feeling in one’s legs. Stories of Savta’s deals are not told as often anymore, she still pops into the material plane on occasion, making a deal in a small village or back water town. However, she is hunted by an offshoot of the Crystal Guard, and sticks primarily to her house carved from the top of a massive curling tree in The Deep of the Dread Forest.
