Built directly into the Drakonos genome is the ability for Dorean: That is freedom from the Louvi Polemos. Endless war, carnage and sorrow surround the Drakonos, and while they bask in the glory of incredible proximity to their benevolent goddess Hikari they do live lives of constant suffering in at least a mental capacity. Dorean is the final hope, to be unlocked only by their goddess and to be sent to the Axiom to live a life free of the oppressive weight of a war in need of winning. But programmed deeply into the Dorean is a strange Working of erasure. Memories in their totality are washed away when the Drakonos enters their Kyrsalis and descends to the Axiom’s golden opportunities.
Do the Drakonos who leave the planet even arrive at the Axiom the same creature in any respect? Is the erasure of memory an erasure of the Soul itself, and instead Dorean is a repurposing of organic matter more than it is granting freedom to a weary mind. These questions and more support the rising trend of Apodechtite Thanatos after the word spread of what the Drakonos body looks like once it has undergone the Dorean change. It is a different creature altogether, with elements reminiscent of its old form, but new biology all the same. Its wings are gone, its face flattened, and the scaley hardy skin turns to a strange interlocking carapace with a duller color. What is to be made of this change few can say, but to defy it comes easy once a case is made to doubt the primary goal all Drakonos believe they have striven for all these millennia.
