A curious creature among Attovian culture thanks to its complete invisibility in record and memory. The Stalker is a creature with no name, the moniker it carries alone a common statement made by those it wipes from the continents surface when they spend a bit too long in the Southern Wilds. It hunts silently, kills quickly, leaves no trace and its appearance and behaviors remain undocumented in their entirety. The Rugadh Sliabh tell some tales of the forests surrounding Darkmount as being “grouchy” and “fickle”, but the myth and legend surrounding these tropes is flimsy and simply involves the disappearance of several surveying parties. Otherwise the Rugadhian shipments and caravans that cross the Southern Wilds and then the Twilight Desert do not overstay their welcome and have never come under duress. The Council of Elders holds strong to a prohibition on external land expeditions to this day having been convinced by Master Tadgh Leabharchoimeád Éabha that some element of truth must run through the old tales and it isn’t worth the loss.
Appearance and Manifestation
The Stalker is a manifestation of two things: The powerful feelings left over from Hormus’ Sundering coupled with the deep concentrated consciousness surrounding the Leg of Hormus as being the representation of balance. His Leg resides somewhere beneath the soil of the Southern Wilds, likely near the Twilight Estuaries and those entities who overstay their welcome and disrupt the natural balance of this region summon by their very actions an avenger of the forests and plains. The Stalker is largely Extramaterial in its makeup, being made up mostly of Hyper Dense Meyda. It can morph and fit this form through nearly any conceivable opening including the gap between molecules depending on their relative size and the distance between their bonds. Being made of so much Meyda and built from an Abbaki’s Soul they can utilize the base Functions of Meyda to manipulate matter in a number of ways. Most commonly this is the dissolving of the bodies of Soul bearing entities perceived by the surrounding forest as potential threats. The dissolved matter is altered into something the forest might need whether that is fertile soil or harmless gasses and the body it once was is erased in its entirety leaving no discernable trace. This dissolving usually deconstructs the Soul entirely and incorporates it into the rest of the Meyda which makes up the body of The Stalker thus rendering those targets of its ire devoid of all existence.
