A majestic feline that has prowled the floor of the Ambar Forest for millennia. Respected by the people of Beleg gúl as a kind of protector of the Ambar Tree, and a ferocious hunter. Yalle have few kits in their lifetime, as they mate for life and if separated from their partner will never procreate again.
Fully grown the top of a Yalle’s back comes eye level to the average elf. Despite this impressive size and weight they make almost no sound when walking, and their eyes glow softly of Meyda giving them excellent night vision. Pitch black fur covers the body and a long puffy tail, the only variation appearing in the tufts of hair between their foot pads and around the rear.
The Wise Yalle
While Elven history, myth and legend lacks the presence of animals as euphemisms or key figures, the Yalle is one of the only exceptions. Strangely enough the Yalle is not found in official historical accounts as approved by The Court in Ambar but instead resides in the oral histories told by the lower caste of Beleg gúl society. Many say and believe that it was a Yalle by the name of Lehtiel who led the first Cundo in Ambar to the Ambar Tree’s new and current home. While these older tales are frowned upon by the upper caste few can deny that the abstracted feline form on the Cundo in Ambar Pehte must have found its inspiration somewhere, and where else could such a line be drawn? This likely etiological tale is popular the continent over and the Yalle is a common symbol of wisdom, grace and confidence.
