A strange formation of marble called the Shimmering Cliffs many centuries ago has become the Northern Marble Quarries of Northern Katki. One of the major reasons Northern Katki wishes so badly to reinstate the looser trade regulations over The Ocean Way of the early Jalar Confederation is the burgeoning demand for marble. For the time being the Marble must be carted out slowly and steadily using typical Trade and Transport methods.
Formation
The Shimmering Cliffs are strange in their existence as the marble that makes them up juts into the sky many hundreds of feet above even the tallest hills or trees anywhere for miles. Their origin is unknown though some tales connect this oddity to Krag the Quick and his ascent to the surface. The idea that the Goweh may just lie beneath the beautiful stone is an ill thought to most and better left undiscussed. How the quarry first formed is of little matter now, the abundant marble is for the taking and being taken. Someday an empty crater will be all that remains.
