Aarelinn is known for its nearly ridiculous number of mills and other vent powered buildings. Nearly a century after the Jalar Earthquake which left Aarelinn in a destitute state, the city regained its foothold quickly by capitalizing on the strange gasses rising from Shelin (the name given to the remaining thin crack left over by the quake). It has grown substantially thanks to the economic advantage it has over any other city in Southern Katki. Aarelinn is one of the only large contributing factors to the continual survival and relevance of Southern Katki, but even they are not quite enough.

Jalar’s relative proximity to the Shen Dynasty has netted Aarelinn a very lucrative deal with many bakers and Baking Shulbets in the Gnomish nation.

A new, main street thoroughfare steers along the center of Aarelinn following closely the path that Shelin winds across the earth. This path is lined with all manner of mills and merchants selling and trading for ground goods and flour especially. Other general goods are easy to find, but the only room for specialized goods and skills is among the countless mills.
