In 870, only 24 years after the Establishment of the Kingdom of Helva several wealthy farmers who had initially gained much from the new sovereignty brought by the official title of their nation began to notice the neglect they were receiving from the Houses. The House of Commerce had several representatives within its walls for the purpose of aiding merchants of different kinds and favorable legislation could be advocated for thanks to such connections. These founding farmers, Bea Tordai, Aigar Kask and Tuuli Magi realized they were considered, in the eyes of the governing bodies, as regular citizens despite the crucial resource and infrastructure they provided and maintained. Instead of taking this to the Houses directly they decided to form their own organization and named it the Coalition of Farmers. Initially the Kingdom of Helva pushed back on the idea of an unsanctioned alliance created by those who produced the nations food for fear that a monopoly might drive citizens into rampant hunger and dissatisfaction with the state. Thankfully however, the founding ethos of the Kingdom of Helva still rang in the minds of those who ran the nation and when the Coalition of Farmers alluded to the efficiency the structure of their group could provide they struck the proper cord and found themselves now sitting officially supported.

It didn’t take long for the CoF to grow and to begin requesting and then utilizing a portion of the budget defined by the House of Commerce to conduct financially safe research on the farms of willing participants. Over the decades this produced a steady growth in the advancement of farming technology that was then distributed to as many Helvan Farms as possible using portions of the Coalition’s funding. This has made the Kingdom of Helva the unequivocal food export leader for nearly 300 years, and while this knowledge has begun to trickle into other nations most are happy to keep the cheap food imports coming and invest the rest in other advancements.

Current tensions have left some countries in a minor state of panic, such as the Zyclester Empire, who cannot adequately feed their modern population with only the internal production pipelines. If war begins again, it must end before their stockpiles run dry or they will quickly implode.
