An Old Wizard’s Saying
A god may intercede on behalf of our more feeble of minds such that the Meyda may bless, and curse, all.
Workings are intensely complex things. Besides Triflings there are very view Workings conductible through the errant medium of the sapient hand. For this reason the majority of Meyda-work is conducted through Meyda-circles where one can take their time to make each line and circle more exact. Meyda is fickle and requires nearly perfect instructions to execute its Functions accurately to the desired effect. Thankfully there is a solution for those who wish to conduct Workings via Transfusion on the fly. It requires first, Tethering their Soul to a deity or similarly powerful creature. This connection via one of the five base Contracts is symbiotic in its nature. The powerful entity receives additional potency the more Tethers it garners, and the denizen of the Material World receives at the very least a Meyda-well of effectively infinite capacity and commonly the additional gift of Meyda Intercession.
A Worker with Meyda Intercession no longer needs to communicate directly to the Meyda what it should do and how it should do it. So long as they can express to the higher being’s Soul what it is they are attempting to accomplish it can effortlessly pass that on to the Meyda. The extent to which this is the case changes based on the Working, the entity one is Tethered to, and the agreed upon methods by fellow Workers as to how one should conduct said Working. It is a requirement that every Working in The Crystal Tomes be accompanied by a verbal string of reconstructed Abbaki with which to increase the success rate of interpretation.
No one wants to admit that whatever we drew from at Zyclest University was not just a God Stone. I’m afraid the laws of Meyda Intercession dictate that a being of significant power resides within the very walls of Zyclest City. Whether through physical or exceptional means, it warrants proper consideration.
Deals with Dragons
Dragons, Blood Dragons most specifically are obsessed with making such Tethered connections. Their mastery over Meyda means they can provide Meyda Intercession to a limited extent, enough so that most Workers would never require anything other. But their goal is less about potency and more about the hope of change. Their status as Mach’shavah Chofesh bereaves them endlessly. Each Tethered Soul is a potential touch point for the change they seek and brings them more influence and power. With enough Tethers the Soul’s potency naturally grows thanks to the constant strain. Perhaps with enough connections one could finally break the shackle Graskoroth’s Soul binds them with. An afterlife might still be found for the cursed.
