The Functions of Meyda are those elements of it which are the most fundamental. How Meyda interacts and translates to and around the Material World from its Extramaterial World are defined like so.
Coalescence
If one desires something new to come into existence in the Material World they can do so by informing Meyda to become something new. This appears as the manifestation of new matter or energy, however no laws of physics are broken, instead Meyda is being translated to the Material World to facilitate the equivalent exchange. Coalescence is quite expensive since it requires Meyda to inform and to be informed.
Conduction
Conduction is the process of Meyda informing elements, molecules and energy of the material plane to behave in specific ways. While the outcome of Conduction seems unnatural such as forced chemical reactions, density changes and strange heat transfer it is not so when perceived within the duality of the Material and Extramaterial worlds. Conduction is by far the most commonly used Function in Attovia.
Connection
Meyda as a source of information can be used to tie two or more things together, linking them so to speak. Remarkably there is no known distance in the Material World across which this connection fails though it does obey the speed of light. Connection is by far Meyda’s most complex Function and has many dynamic ramifications depending on what is being connected and how. Tethered Souls are the most significant obvious example, but things as simple as Astrostones and Meyda-marks are examples of this Function and its flexibility. Connection is also the most commonly paired Function with one of the other two being capable of propagating Meyda Functions across its connections depending on the information provided to the connection and the entities it binds.
