Yazil Tea is a popular drink of the Semari people that has begun to make its way into the western portion of the Ornsiire Empire. Traditionally the Yazil flower’s roots are dug up and cut into strips lengthwise before being pounded by a dull rock or wooden mallet to express more of its flavor. It is then heated carefully for an hour, Yazil Tea must not boil and if it does it must be restarted as much of the flavor is lost. The aroma and flavor are both rich and earthy but not bitter. If one’s Yazil Tea tastes bitter it was almost certainly prepared incorrectly, or with rotten Yazil roots. There is a natural sweetness to the drink but it is not uncommon for individuals to add sugar if it is available to them. Yazil Tea is said to help one recover from illness, improve digestion, and even aid in relieving the aches and pains of old age.
