Originally used as a common source for Clothing Materials the Hajik plant was first cultivated by the Tzelian people for these purposes, and popularized the plant throughout the central portion of the continent for such use. It was the Tzelian’s who gave it its name which reflects the gentle bow of its large stems when its small fruiting pods begin to bend the plants shoots towards the ground.

It wasn’t long after the switch to Karva fur based cloth that Hajik began to be cultivated strictly for its edible properties. It was added to crop rotations after the Coalition of Farmers in the Kingdom of Helva popularized this advancement in agriculture and is grown heavily in Helva, southern Zoher and the Zyclester Empire.

The pods that grow off of the shoots of the Hajik’s main stalk each contain a large, semi-soft nut like fruit that can be easily crushed into smaller pieces or fully pulverized into a powder for a variety of cooking options. Its general abundance and ease of cultivation means that Hajik is one of the cheapest food options for common folk and is found in the vast majority of villages and settlements even those quite remote without their own farms.
