Cirpi are common small avian species of Attovia seen just about everywhere more south than Morus and occasionally spotted in the colder north during the height of summer. The term Cirpi covers a wide range of diverse fowl with similar biology and a more detailed taxonomy does not exist as of yet. Within the broad stroke the word Cirpi paints there are several notable varieties given specific names.

Ragdi

Named after the male’s near iridescent green feathers the Ragdi is perhaps the most confined to a general region, found almost exclusively within southern Zoher and just to the east in western Zyclester. It is most well known for its place as the inspiration for the Zoherian nation’s crest before it became a theocratic country under the Church of Hormus.

Nize

The Nize are recognizable by the small black stripe just behind the eye that tapers as it reaches the back of the head. They make everywhere west of the Zyclester Empire their habitat of choice, and their presence in the Western Wastes has brought them to the Semari people who have made it common tradition to keep them as pets. The Semari believe the Nize can see the Balacan when the Krest cannot. They are often seen as spiritual guides and represent a concept the Semari call Kismet, the idea that great wisdom is found in small packages. For this reason Semari mythology often portrays the Nize as kind, wise little birds who aid the path of the Semari people so that it strays not from the Fikcan.
Befriending the Nize to the point of companionship appears to be a talent possessed only by Krest. Many may keep Cirpi in cages, but only the Krest, perhaps in their avian kinship, truly befriend them.
