Though once a derogatory term created by the Pre-imperialist Ornsiire to mark and deter the attackers of sea faring trade routes along the northern coast. Since that time the moniker has been co-opted by the people it once spurned evoking white knuckle fear from any honest sailor. What was long ago the disorganized treasure seeking rabble that first boarded Beleg gúlian and Ornsiirian vessel alike has evolved into several implicit factions and major players who vie for control over piracy of the northern coast’s trade routes. Powerful Meyda-workers are payed handsomely to provide frightening levels of fire power and where just the threat of fire from Chomkar Workings was once enough to force an early surrender modern vessels are heavily fire proofed and manned by Workers of their own.

Controlled Piracy

The Manir factions strictly monitor and control the number of ships raided and pillaged by one another hoping to maintain the current trade route’s traffic enabling sustainable flows of loot and wealth.

Manir Factions

There are currently three major factions who mutually recognize one another as equals among the Manir beside which many smaller factions scramble and scrape to make themselves known and important. Each faction simply carries the name of the captain which beget it.

Red the Immolator

Red as his crew refers to him has been a Manir since he was a young Amodian boy some twenty years ago and quickly made a name for himself after he rose in the ranks and finally became captain after Publically Immolating the previous captain. Crews under the Mark of Red the Immolator always burn at least one captive as a kind of grizzly tribute to the faction head.

Man o’ Coffers

Coffers is a bit of a legendary name in the Manir circles, though its been well over a century since the original Coffers Manir manned a vessel and crew the Girav gel woman made herself initially useful to the Manir thanks to her deep knowledge about systems of commerce, trade and wealth management. Coffers eventual captainship is single handedly responsible for the current system of controlled piracy maintained by the existing factions. No one currently holds the title of Coffers as it must be earned by solving a series of financial puzzles left behind by the original.

The Man o’ Coffers faction is the leading voice of reason in maintaining the Controlled Piracy mandates among the other factions and are often spending time enforcing and punishing other Manir groups who have thought themselves above the rules.

Tragedy’s Children

Tragedy recently arrived on the Manir scene and though his faction only hosts two vessels and the crews which man them he sets strict and violent examples of any who oppose his self assigned authority. His brash trajectory is frightening but respected by the other factions and he has elbowed his way into being one of the three most influential faction heads the Manir have ever seen.

World Builder Notes

Manir, or more longform gabraa’ir is a combination of the words man in Hebrew and demon in Aramaic.
