Uhrata Kaikki’s reputation is now steeped in legend and while he is uplifted by the Church of Hormus he is a controversial figure even among the Bereaved. The early years of his reign as the first Head Priest are unanimously considered to have been some of the most wonderous years of any ruler in the Age of Nations. However later during his rule he took actions which shake many a Bereaved’s faith. He appears violently driven to reclaim distant land in the name of Hormus during The Zoher Incursion and became increasingly despotic with the discovery of Lahettaa. When many began to question his rule it appears his devotion was questioned by Hormus himself for he died over night very suddenly. No sign of assassination, his divine vitality had finally been taken and all that remained was a pedestal with a rotting head waiting to be replaced.
The Story of the First Head Priest
Born in 6 Age of Nations Uhrata Kaikki grew up in Morus when it was first but a small, impoverished town full of people who had moved there thanks to the efforts of members of the Church of Hormus which had begun to gain a substantial following in the Age of Nations. Uhrata was enthralled by the early Sundered Priests who graced their small towns, spending every waking moment in their shadow when they passed through. It was not until a Foot truly noticed his devotion that his life began to change. He was taken in to serve the religious group and soon became a zealous follower of Hormus. Uhrata coming from nothing had no qualms giving everything to this cause both newer and greater than anything else he had experienced. Rapidly his influence expanded and he was brought in to consult with the Torn Order. The Order realized upon interviewing the young man that he might be the first viable candidate for a relatively new ritual discovered shortly before. It would require the individual to give all but their head, losing mobility, autonomy, the ability to hone a skill, everything but knowledge was to be lost. Uhrata could think of no greater honor and set about preparing himself to go through with the ultimate sacrifice. The device construed to facilitate this specialized ritual is a diabolical sight and even gave Uhrata some pause when he entered the room, but swallowing his fear he affixed himself to the mechanisms and it began. What happens within during the making of a Head Priest is unknown to all but the Torn Order’s most inner circle. It is not covered in The Book of Nefiqaddis or any other published religious work, but when it was complete Uhrata’s head remained suspended above a pile of viscera and separated limbs and he smiled.
Immediately it was obvious that Uhrata carried a kind of implicit command. He had undergone the greatest sacrifice known to the church and with it a host of divine Workings orders of magnitude more potent than other Sundered Priests. He was immediately granted a kind of kingship over the small nation of Zoher and upon his request was transported to his home town Morus from which he ruled until he died in 92 AoN.
