Reachers are almost never found on land, instead occasionally clambering onto the decks of ships that stray too far from the Attovian coast. It is largely unknown why they do not raid the shorelines like the Goblins and Trolls but some research in A Thorough Study in Monstrous Biology and its Linkage to the Kraken suggests their biology does not support very long stints of activity when in open air.
Appearance
Reachers have a long, thin body with four sets of limbs that all appear to be identical in function and are often interchanged in their use as hand like graspers and clawed feet when on land. The main trunk of their body is extremely fleshy and soft and appears to collapse into a shape more optimized for swimming when water pressure is applied.
