The Forty Ninth Blade was chosen by Grask’s Needle during the summer of 1249 ToR. He was a squat Nammalian man then before the Needle’s presence and Tether began to influence his mind and body. The olive tone of his skin now a pale white that somehow appears to absorb far more light than should be possible. Dull gray eyes are sunken into a round face now accented with dark, splotchy green algae growths which he scratches at incessantly. The rest of his pale and coral encrusted body remains hidden beneath a long black cloak that almost every Blade has worn before him. The only exception to this rule is a lumpy growth on the back of his right hand, which holds the Needle, which glows a sickly, bioluminescent green.
The Forty Ninth Blade is currently on the look out for a new Child of Disease and Child of Murder. However the requirements of both are extensive and the survival rate is low. He has taken to looking outside of the cult to an extent previously frowned upon and has reached into a number of underground circles looking for their most heinous and corrupt members. His belief is that no Working of substantial process can be done towards their end goal of reuniting Graskoroth with Attovian soil without a complete set of Hebdomad representatives. Some of the other members of the cult, notably the Child of Hunger and the Child of Weakness suspect their current leader has no leads on advancing their research towards the Working in question and is diverting attention to finding new representatives until he finds additional directive.
Background
The Forty Ninth Blade was originally an agent of espionage sent by a small religious group known as The New Church of the Sky out of the Jalar Confederation. He left his family behind, found a wife inside of Claskaria settled into a small homestead and after some time went looking for the cult. Thanks to his slow and methodical approach the cult suspected little and he was quickly inducted. Though never caught The Forty Ninth Blade was highly impressionable and after diving a bit too deep became a real member of the cult by choice leaving behind both his life as an agent, and the faux life he had cultivated as a husband.
Several years later after The Forty Eighth Blade’s death he stepped forward to attempt creating a Contract with Grask’s Needle. After successfully forming a Tether he was placed into power and was set to learning everything he could about his forty eight predecessors. Unfortunately The Forty Ninth Blade is a slow reader and despite the motivation provided by his new Tether has consumed very little of the knowledge required to actually contribute to furthering the cults goals. Thus they stagnate while he postures.
