Mala Nu exists in one of the strangest combined geographical regions that the continent has to offer. On all sides of the island tribal lands sits something all other societies and peoples of the continent fear: The ocean. None of the palisades, defenses, guard details or other typical logistics of Attovian port towns and coastal settlements can be found. Instead the unique but regular lives of the Giravian Archipelago Girav gel carry forward unbothered and worry free. This alone sets Mala Nu apart from almost every civilized group east of it, however even among the dozens of tribes among the Giravian Reefs Mala Nu is touched by something they are not. The Western Wastes and minor remnants of the Old Workings can be seen on the eastern quarter of the island. The reef and sands there warp and tremble under the shadow of the old worlds influence and while heavily avoided, they are partly considered sacred thanks to the strange draw those shores appear to have on the Ejderej.

Otherwise compared to other islands in the Giravian Archipelago little is truly different besides scale. Mala Nu has been the largest tribe for many decades straight and over the last thousand years is said to have been the largest tribe for at least eight of those centuries. This has lead them to require additional quantities of sand for the center of the island where the Unpreserved Bine Toqume are buried. Over many centuries the island’s shape has warped to contain a sizable hill of sand at its center.
