The Kinsi is one of the few weapons to gain popularity during the Time of Rest thanks to its design being particularly useful against True Monsters, the primary drivers of continued conflict on the continent. At first glance, from a distance, the Kinsi appears like a heavy spear but if one inspects the haft and head of the implement its unique features become quite pronounced. The head of the Kinsi is a sharp cone with a ring of flared claws at its wider base often called the net. The haft of the Kinsi tappers from a typical spear width where it is to be held, to roughly 2/3rds the widest diameter as it meets the head. In combination this allows the weapon to be whipped into and through a true monster’s chest with the aim of punching large holes into their flesh through which their Monster Stone might fall or be violently removed. Thanks to their otherwise uncanny resilience when it comes to receiving damage the immediate death brought about by removing the stone makes the Kinsi invaluable to anyone who regularly finds themselves face to face with Goblins, Trolls, or Reachers.
The Kinsi is actually quite an ancient weapon that died out during the first several centuries of the Age of Nations. It was originally devised by the Crystal Guard and used extensively by them and later Zoher during their time holding the land that would eventually make up the Shen Dynasty. The Zyclester Empire has a large back stock of these weapons originally ordered from the Rugadh which they sell to the Silver Swords and Mun Blades primarily thanks to them often finding jobs related to True Monster extermination within the Grask Forest.
